Here’s a little summer project for all you DMI friends and fans. The “Down In The Delta” jingle was written by Tricia Walker, and recorded and produced at the Delta Music Institute. Video directed by Jimmy Smith of DSU Athletics.

Rise Above

The Winona Show Choir from Winona, Mississippi, performs “Rise Above” during a recording session in Studio A at Delta Music Institute, Delta State University. The children are from the Winona Public School District. The song was written by the program director Patti Corley (DSU ’82). The choir is competing for a spot as a Kennedy Center School of Distinction. If chosen, the students will visit the nation’s capitol and have an opportunity to meet the President of the United States.

DMI Director and Friends featured during 20th Evening in December

DMI Director Tricia Walker, along with several friends of DMI, performed last month at the 20th Annual Evening in December concert, benefitting Daystar Ministries of Nashville, TN. Women in the Round singer/songwriters Tricia Walker, Ashley Cleveland, Karen Staley, and Pam Tillis originated the event in 1989. Master of ceremonies for the event was writer/artist Buddy Greene, with special guest performances throughout the evening by Jeff Taylor, Grand Ole Opry stars Connie Smith and Marty Stuart, Women in the Round, and Grammy award winning writer/artist Amy Grant. Colour Academy Sessions at DMI

Indie pop band Colour Academy recently recorded several sessions for their upcoming project in Studio A and Studio B of the Delta Music Institute. Thanks to Cliff and the guys for choosing the DMI studios for their project….they were great to work with and we wish them all the best! DSU Alma Mater Class of ’59

Members of Delta State’s Golden Circle Class of ’59 singing the alma mater in Studio B of the Delta Music Institute (formerly Whitfield Gym). They did a great job on the alma mater, and they were all amazed at the transformation of dear ol’ Whitfield into two fantastic recording studios…thanks for coming, y’all!
